Incinerator Cancer Threat - report in The Leinster Leader 11 July 2008

Here are some extracts from an article by Laura Coates on the Anti-Incinerator meeting in Kill, Co. Kildare on Wednesday night, 9th July.

"It is a hoax. It is a scam. This is the worst pieve of infrastructure development for this country. This, from a recycling company director, Craig Benton, was just one of the arguments put to a packed public meeting in Kill to rally opposition to the proposed incinerator at Behan's Quarry in Rathcoole.
Kill residents who have battled a local landfill expressed their shock that they are now expected to accept an incinerator on their doorstep.
Biochemist Dr Rebecca Griffin said cancers and childhood developmental problems have been associated with dioxins produced by incinerators.
Councillor Mary Glennon said that she would start a campaign in Naas to get the residents there involved in the fight.
Template letters of objection can be downloaded from www.rathcooleincinerator.org
